Dianne Johnston is the driving force behind the Cherished Community Support Programme, a Sedgefield based non-profit organization that was found 6 years ago. With the help of the local community and sponsorships she is committed to empowering Cherished to create sustainable support and growth platforms to improve the lives of and secure a better future for under privileged children from Smutsville.
SAM (Sedgefield Animal Matters) is a registered NPO (Non-Profit Organisation) & was established in May 2016. The organisation is run entirely by volunteers. SAM relies entirely on the kind support of the community. The volunteers are made up of a group of Sedgefield locals dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community.
The largest disaster response non-governmental organisation of African origin on the continent. 45 COUNTRIES, 30 YRS.
The essence of their presence is to bring hope and restore dignity to the most vulnerable and they have demonstrated this time and time again in Sedgefield.
HUG’s competent care-givers provide care for the following: Patients who are terminally ill, who need a period of rehabilitative post-operative care, whose family need some respite from caring responsibilities who are in an acute phase of a chronic illness. Sister Brigid’s work continues to leave an indelible mark on our community. She has not only improved the health and well-being of countless individuals but has also mentored and trained countless community healthcare workers. Her dedication and compassion have inspired others to join her in making Sedgefield a better place for all.

Celebrating 37 years in Sedgefield, they believe in changing the world by serving the needs of our local community. From facilitating health screenings and feeding the hungry to cleaning up local parks and helping rebuild communities after disaster, Lions are ready and willing to jump in wherever there’s a need.
NSRI recruit and train lifeguards from disadvantaged communities to patrol local beaches come summertime, and their plans to continue with this initiative include the aim to train 10 new lifeguards every year.
